Gardaí have charged a 26 year old man in connection with the seizure of a firearm and ammunition.

He was due to appear before the Dublin District Court, Criminal Courts of Justice this morning, Saturday 11th February 2017 at 10.30am.

Gardaí at Coolock seized a firearm and ammunition during the planned search of a house in the Snowdrop area of Darndale on the 30th of September 2016. The items seized were technically examined later on. 

The man was arrested in the Coolock area on Thursday, 9th February 2017 and detained at Coolock Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.
