A 31-year-old man will appear in court in Dublin tomorrow morning charged in connection with a carkjacking in the city.
On Friday night, a 58-year-old taxi driver was threatened and assaulted at knife point by a man before being forced from his car. The incident occurred in a shopping centre car park in Palmerstown.
The car was then driven from the scene in the direction of the N4.
The taxi driver was taken to Ballyfermot Garda Station where he received medical treatment for his injuries.
The taxi was later intercepted by gardaí at a filling station in Maynooth at 8am yesterday morning. A 31-year-old man was arrested.
He is expected to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning.
