A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with a €25,000 drug seizure in Co Westmeath.

The cannabis herb was discovered following a planned search of a premises at Ardleigh Vale, Mullingar at 6pm yesterday evening.

The search came as part of an ongoing operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Westmeath area.

A man was arrested at the scene and detained at Mullingar Garda Station.

He has since been charged in connection with the seizure, and is set to appear before Mullingar District Court this morning.
