A man has been charged following a drugs seizure in Meath earlier this week.

Gardaí investigating the seizure of 160kg of cannabis confirmed they have charged one man and he will appear before Trim District Court this afternoon.

One male was released without charge and the other two men remain in custody.

At a press briefing on organise crime, Garda Commissioner Nóirín O’Sullivan said €23m worth of drugs were seized last year and already more than €42m this year.
