A local Councillor has said the death of a man who was hit by a lorry in Omagh in Co. Tyrone is a tragedy.
The collision, involving a Ford tipper lorry, happened on Great Northern Road close to the Brookmount Road overpass at around ten-to-five this morning.
The victim has been named by police as 24 year old Neil Caller from the Omagh area.
A 28 year old man has been arrested in connection with the crash.
The PSNI is appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them.
Cllr Marty McColgan from the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, has offered his condolences.
There have already been 131 fatal accidents on Irish roads in 2016, up from 113 at this same point in 2015:
