Gardai have arrested a man and seized a firearm and ammunition following an operation in Finglas, Co. Dublin yesterday.
During the operation conducted by Gardaí attached to the Special Crime Task Force and Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, a man was seen as acting suspiciously in the Ballygall area of Finglas.

He fled from Gardai and after a chase, a 41-year-old man was arrested. He was found in possession of a sawn off shotgun (subject to technical examination) and ammunition.
He was arrested and is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939, as amended, at Finglas Garda Station.
