A man has been arrested following a robbery in Dublin yesterday evening.

It happened at a supermarket on Upper Rathmines Road at around 8.50pm.

A man entered the shop and approached a male cashier.

The employee was threatened by the suspect, who took a sum of money and fled the scene on foot.

The cashier was not injured.

After searches in the area, Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s.

He is being detained at Terenure Garda Station.
