Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery in south Dublin.
It happened just after 1.00pm on the South Circular Road when a man, armed with what was believed to be a hand gun, entered a premises.
He threatened staff and demanded cash. His face was covered in a white cloth type of clothing.
He then left the shop, heading down New Ireland Road.
Gardaí from Kevin Street and local units responded to the call and began a search.
They saw a man run into the bushes and he was subsequently arrested.
The 29-year-old is being held at Kilmainham garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Gardaí say during a search of the area a firearm and a sum of money was recovered.
