A man has been arrested after gardaí in south Dublin seized cocaine with an estimated value of €1.5m.

Officers at Rathmines seized the drugs following the planned search of a property as part of Operation Thor.

The discovery was made on the Lower Rathmines Road on Friday morning at around 10.00am.

One man, aged in his mid-20s, was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Rathmines garda station.

He is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
