Man Due In Court After €290,000 Drugs Seizure In Cork

A man is due in court later today in relation to the seizure of drugs worth €290,000 in Co.Cork.

The discovery was made on Friday when Gardaí entered a house at Presentation Terrace in Kinsale, where they discovered cocaine with a street value of approximately 175,000 euro, ecstasy with a street value of about 54,000 euro; and cannabis herb estimated to be worth 60,000 euro.

A man and a woman in their 40s and a man in his 20s were arrested and detained at Bandon Garda station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

The woman and the man in his 20s have since been released and a file will be sent to the DPP.

The man in his 40s is due to appear at a special sitting of Macroom District Court at 6pm today charged in relation to the seizure.

The man who is due in court was one of three people arrested during an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled substances in the Cork area.
