Eight people have been taken to hospital following a collision between a tour bus and a Luas in Dublin city this morning.

The incident happened near Smithfield at around 11.00am.

Emergency services, including paramedics, were at the scene.

Luas operator Transdev said the the Red Line has now re-opened after the incident, having been closed for a time earlier. 

A notice posted at 1.50pm said commuters could expect delays for another hour.

Luas Green Line services are operating normally.
