Great news all around for those in the tourism sector as Ireland has makes a top 10 appearance in this year's Lonely Planet's 'Best in Travel 2015'.
The guide book, the world's most popular, ranked Ireland fifth, just ahead of Republic of Congo and Serbia in its definitive guide of where to travel for next year.
To make the most of any visit to Ireland, it recommends a trad session in a rural pub, hiking through the countryside and surfing in Donegal. But it's the people that receive the highest praise. Describing us as "friendly and welcoming," it says that "[Irish people] are inevitably at the heart of the best the country has to offer."
It's not the first time the guide has lavished praise on us either. This summer, Ireland made two appearances on its top 50 secret destinations for traveller's list. Cromane Peninsula in Kerry came in at number five, while John Kavanagh's Gravediggers pub in Glasnevin ranked number 46.
