At least 36 people were arrested on another night of trouble in Lille which culminated in riot police repeatedly charging at England fans.

Tear gas, pepper spray and batons were used on English - and some Welsh - fans several times on a day when 16 people were taken to hospital.

After a tense stand-off at about 10pm, police rushed at a group of approximately 200 rowdy supporters who were singing and setting off flares outside a pub.

Gardaí investigating the disappearance of missing schoolboy Philip Cairns may search for his remains in a field in the foothills of the Dublin mountains.

The Irish Independent reports that the land was once used by convicted paedophile Eamon Cooke to transmit a signal for his pirate radio station.

The serial child abuser is claimed to have hidden an underground container on the site, where he also kept a caravan.

The body of a two-year-old boy snatched by an alligator at a Disney resort in Florida has been recovered.

The child, named as Lane Graves, was paddling in a foot of water on a beach beside the Seven Seas Lagoon on Tuesday night when the animal dragged him away.

Boats, a helicopter and scores of police officers were involved in the search - and a body has now been found.

A deep ocean vessel searching for remains of missing EgyptAir flight 804 has spotted wreckage from the plane.

The search team identified a number of key locations where debris was detected and provided images to investigators.

All 66 people on board the aircraft were killed when it disappeared from radar en route to Cairo from Paris last month.
