Six Irish hospitals have absolutely no access to stroke unit care according to the National Stroke Audit.
It's shown that 7,000 people each year are hospitalised because of stroke, according to the Irish Heart Foundation.
They've released the results of their yearly nation-wide audit dealing with strokes, which shows there have been improvements in treatment, but that it remains the third biggest killer disease in the country.
While the number of people dying after being hospitalised because of stroke has dropped from 19% to 14%, steadily decreasing since 2008, some patients are still suffering due to inadequate services.
