The Jack and Jill Foundation is hoping to raise funds as they host their 19th annual golf classic.

The Pat Kenny Show was down at the Druids Glen Resort for the event.

The golf course, known to many as the 'Augusta of Europe', is famous for hosting the Irish Open on four occasions.

The Jack and Jill Foundation provides direct funding to families of children with brain damage up to four years of age, who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay.

It also offers home, respite and end of life care.

The founder of Jack and Jill Foundation, Jonathan Irwin, has put together a simple video to tell his story.

Mr Irwin says: "If you do happen to know a family in your community that you know has a Jack, just sort of put your arm around them because it's very lonely".

He says his son laughed once in his short life.

"The Grand National that year, you might remember the IRA stopped it, men in trilby hats (saying) 'Oh my God, this is a disgrace, and how dare they' - there was chaos on the camera and Jack laughed".

"He was like bells on Christmas morning, it was the only time he laughed".

"He obviously had a potential for chaos".

You can text 'We Care' to 50300 to donate €4
