Every day throughout Electric Picnic, we'll be cherry-picking seven different acts and events that we think will be the highlights of the festival. The choices can be overwhelming, so trust us, we're here to help!

NAS

Where & When: MAIN STAGE @ 19.30

One of the most influential and supremely talented rap/hip-hop stars of all time is heading to Stradbally to give us a taste of each and every one of the the ten chart-topping albums he's released so far. While he hasn't had a new LP since 2012's Life Is Good, he has been heavily involved in the new Netflix show The Get Down, and recently released a track titled Nas Album Done. Who knows, he might even treat the audience to some new stuff!

LOVE AT FIRST FESTIVAL

Where & When: MINDFIELD - NEWSTALK LOUNGE @ 18.00

Newstalk is playing cupid at Electric Picnic this year, and will be matching up three couples to see if they can find love. The lucky couples will be wined and dined in the Newstalk Lounge on the first evening, before setting off to enjoy all that Electric Picnic has to offer. We’ll catch up with them again on Sunday to see if sparks flew at the main stage or love was lost in the forest...

HEATHERS

Where & When: OTHER VOICES @ 20.00

The Irish sisters have been going from strength to strength since their arrival in 2007, and most people would have heard their Remember When track playing over the ad for the Irish Tourism Board. They've been a little quiet since the release of their 2012 sophomore album Kingdom, but they've already released two new singles this year alone (one of which is below), so album number three can't be far away.

JENNY GREEN & THE RTÉ CONCERT ORCHESTRA

Where & When: RANKIN'S WOOD @ 21.00

NOSTALGIA KLAXON! If you're a fan of '90s dance classics, then get ready to hear them like you’ve never heard them before. There's going to be a solid hour of old school anthems like Tiesto's Adagio for Strings, Insomnia by Faithless, Not Over Yet by Grace and Orbital's Belfast, with Jenny Greene on the decks, supported by RTÉ’s 48-piece orchestra.

THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS

Where & When: MAIN STAGE @ 22.30

There's nothing to be said about the genius electronic artists that can't be said with one of their best songs.

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS

Where & When: ELECTRIC ARENA @ 22.45

The Welsh psychedelic rock band have been on a five-year hiatus since their last album Dark Days/Light Years, but they're mostly definitely on the comeback trail at the moment. They released their first new single, 'Bing Bong', in seven years a few months ago, and a Best Of compilation album is due to arrive before the end of the year.

VIPER (Yes, that Viper)

Where & When: EVERYWHERE

Ah, it's yer man from The Hardy Bucks! Francis 'The Viper' Higgins will be joining the Newstalk team for the weekend, giving his unique perspective of the going's on, and if you head on over to the Newstalk Tent, you might just manage to catch a glimpse of the living legend himself.
