The receiver of the Boland's Quay site in Dublin's docklands has reported that the development is on schedule and that a main contractor will be appointed before the end of July.
Planning permission for the Boland's Quay development, which is situated next to the historic Boland's Mill site, was granted in July of last year.
Receiver, Mark Reynolds of Savills, says that significant progress has been made in advancing the project which is due to be finished during 2018.
The demolition of the existing silos is underway and due to be completed in June.
A conservation contractor will also be appointed before the end of this month to restore the mill buildings which will be converted for commercial and residential use.
The Burke Kennedy Doyle designed Boland's Quay regeneration will have three towers, which will house 36,851 square metres of office, residential, retail and cultural space. It is due to have office space for up to 2,500 workers.
It will also include a new civic plaza on the waterfront.
Michael Cleary from the Boland’s Quay Development Group commented:
“The SDZ fast-track planning scheme introduced by Dublin City Council has enabled us to advance this project in a very short period of time and the project delivery team are progressing full steam ahead with the development. On completion in 2018 this significant construction project will become a landmark office development in the resurgent Dublin Docklands area.”
