Deutsche Bank's annual 'Mapping the World's Prices' report for 2017 shows that living in Dublin is more expensive than most European capitals.

Ireland ranks as the 11th most expensive country to buy an iPhone 7 in. Turkey tops that list, followed by Brazil and Russia.

Given that rising rents have been testing Dublin habitants budgeting skills - it is interesting to see how our post-rent disposable income measures up:

The Irish capital is the 19th in the metric which sets average salaries against average rents, it ranks ahead of London, Berlin and Paris.

Major US cities, the north of Europe, Oceania, and Asia's biggest cities dominate the top of the list.

According to the Germany bank's research, Dublin is particularly pricey when it comes to public transport. It's the second most expensive, trailing only London in the 47-city index.

In the 'bad habits' metric, comprised of cigarettes and beer prices, Dublin is the eight most costly.

Dublin is the 12th most expensive city to have a 'cheap date' in - this is comprised of, "cab rides, dinner/lunch for two at a pub or dinner, soft drinks, two movie tickets and a couple of beers."
