The fallout is continuing from Egypt Air's flight MS804 from Paris to Cairo which crashed into the Mediterranean on Thursday morning.

The Airbus A320 plane is believed to have killed all 56 passengers and 10 crew.

Egypt's aviation minister immediately pointed the blame at terrorism but as of yet no cause has been found.

Egypt has deployed a submarine to help locate the wreckage, and the jet's two black box flight recorders are yet to be found.

Speaking on Newstalk Breakfast this morning, aviation journalist and expert Gerry Byrne explained why the search is taking several days.

"The wreckage is in very deep water. It's not just a question of rowing of the site and looking down into the water," he said.

"There's no light down there so it's very difficult."

Yesterday, the first services to remember those who lost their lives were held.
