The President of the Irish Medical Organisation says that the health service needs to be one of the key issues debated as we head into an election year.
Dr Ray Walley was speaking in a special New Year statement by the IMO to mark the beginning of 2016.
He said that 2015 would be regarded as a year of acute crisis across the health services in this country.
