Dublin's Guinness Storehouse continues to draw more tourists than any other attraction in Ireland, new figures show.

Meanwhile, the Cliffs of Moher have moved into second place, replacing Dublin Zoo.

1,269,371 people visited the Storehouse in 2014, an increase of almost 10 per cent from 2013.

Though visitors increased for the country's most popular 'family attraction' Dublin Zoo, which recorded an all-time high of 1,076,876 visitors, Clare's natural wonder saw 1,080,501 visitors, an astounding 12.5 per cent increase on 2013.

Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience Director Katherine Webster spoke of the success:

"I believe it is the first time since the new visitor centre opened that we are in the number two slot. We have always been the most visited natural attraction and by a long way the most visited attraction outside of the capital city."

"It is great to see that so many visitors are drawn to the west of Ireland, to county Clare and to the Wild Atlantic Way.”
