An analysis of hitherto lost medical records show that Adolf Hitler suffered from cryptorchidism.

While it has been referred to as an urban legend for years, new research claims to have proved that Adolf Hitler did indeed only have one testicle.

Professor Peter Fleischmann of Erlangen-Nuremberg University studied long-lost medical records that confirmed that Hitler suffered from a condition that would have resulted in him having problems with his genitals.

The records, which were taken after Hitler was arrested for leading the Munich Beer Hall putsch in 1923, record that he suffered from "right-side cryptorchidism", which meant that his right testicle had not descended. Otherwise, he was "healthy and strong".

Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Professor Fleischmann said that the condition was the result of the fact that the growth of Hitler's testicle was "probably stunted".
