Ged Nash refutes claim that Labour party is sexist

A junior Labour minister has denied that the party is guilty of sexism.

Ged Nash, who is running as a candidate in the Louth constituency, has been accused of excluding his female running from a mass canvass in the county today.

Nash's running mate, Senator Mary Moran, was not mentioned in an email promoting the canvass. Speaking to theJournal.ie, she said it amounts to 'another example of the "old boys club’ at work".

She told the site there were previous instances of favouritism, including when Joan Burton failed to mention her campaign during an interview with radio station LMFM.

This was “far from the equality” Labour purports to support, she said.
