Gardaí have discovered drugs worth up to €2 million in the past week during separate seizures in Dublin, Louth and Meath.

Ten people were arrested during the raids, which targeted four separate criminal groups.

Detective Superintendent Tony Howard said the haul included multiple kilos of cannabis, heroin, cocaine and ecstasy tablets and mixing agent.

A total of around €80,000 in cash was seized as part of a crackdown on organised crime.

In the latest operation this morning, cash, jewellery, an Audi car and heroin with an estimated street value of €3,000 were confiscated during several searches in Dublin’s south-inner city.

Yesterday, drugs worth about €500,000 were seized in the Bellewstown area of Meath.

Heroin, ecstasy tablets, cannabis resin and cannabis herb were found, along with €70,000 in cash.

A further 30 kilos of cannabis and half-kilo of cannabis herb, estimated to be worth €190,000, were seized in Finglas.

A submachine gun and cocaine were also discovered during a search of an apartment in Castleknock on Monday.

On Saturday, heroin with an estimated street value of €210,000 was seized from two UK-registered vehicles on the M1 motorway just south of the border in Louth.
