Gardaí have discovered a large amount of stolen car parts believed to include the components of a number of “high end vehicles.”

Officers searching a number of containers at a storage yard in City West also uncovered 200,000 cigarettes and 19 bales of tobacco with an estimated value of €130,000.

Over 100 bottles of champagne and “a small sum of cash” were also seized.

Garda and customs officers are interviewing a 27-year-old man at Tallaght Garda Station in connection with the discovery.

A garda statement said it is difficult to put a value on the car parts at this stage although officers are “confident they have located the component parts of at least five high end vehicles.”
