A woman who was found dead in her Donegal home in the early hours of this morning has been named as Jasmine McMonagle.
The 27-year-old mother-of-two's body was found at the Forest Park Estate in Killygordon.
A Garda technical team have been examining the scene and a man in his 20s is being questioned at Letterkenny Garda Station in connection with the investigation.
A postmortem is currently underway.
The local community is said to be shocked and numbed by the incident in the village.
Sinn Fein Councillor Gary Doherty says it devastating news:
“The fact that a young woman has lost her life at such an early age and in the prime of life really is devastating news to wake up to this morning,” he said.
He said Killygordon is a very quiet village and is “certainly not the kind of place that you would expect to hear such tragic news as we received this morning.”
