A man is due to appear in court today in connection with an armed robbery in Dublin.
A man in his 40's was arrested in Finglas yesterday after being discovered by Gardaí with a crowbar in a shop.
Two people had been locked in a room at the back of the store during the incident - they were unharmed.
At approximately 7.30am, uniformed Gardaí were alerted to a robbery at a shop in the Hampton Wood area of Finglas.
Gardaí forced entry into the shop where they discovered a man wearing a balaclava armed with a crowbar.
Following a brief struggle the man was apprehended. He was arrested and brought to Finglas Gardaí station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Two staff members, a male and a female, were located locked into a room inside the premises. They were not physically harmed during the incident.
Gardaí say the investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
