Gardaí are investigating an incident where a woman in her mid 30s was found seriously injured in Dublin 15.

She was discovered on Sunday morning at approximately 3.40am at Lohunda Dale in Clonsilla, and was taken to hospital where her condition is described as critical.

Gardaí are investigating the possibility that this woman may be the victim of a hit and run road traffic collision.

Investigators have established that the woman had travelled by taxi from Harcourt Street in Dublin City Centre to the Lohunda area prior to her discovery and are seeking to identify the driver.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses particularly those who may have been in the Lohunda Estate/Ongar Distributor Road area between 3.15am and 4.15am Sunday morning.
