The GAA have confirmed that the one-versus-one penalty in hurling is to be trialled in the forthcoming Walsh & Waterford Crystal Cups.
Both the Leinster and Munster councils have agreed to trial the amended rule which would allow only the goalkeeper to stand on the line when a penalty is taken.
The proposal was born of the Hurling 2020 Review committee chaired by former Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy.
