Gardaí investigating the murder of Mark Desmond in the Lucan area on the 2nd December last year have made a further arrest this morning in relation to the investigation.

A man in his late 20s was arrested in the early hours of this morning in the city centre of Dublin and was taken to Ronanstown Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

The other arrested man remains in custody at Lucan Garda Station.

Mr Desmond (41) was shot in Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan on December 2nd 2016.

He was was known to Gardaí and had a number of previous convictions.
