The funeral of one of Northern Ireland's "disappeared" - Seamus Ruddy - took place in County Down today, more than 30 years after he was murdered by the INLA.
Seamus was abducted from Paris before being secretly buried in 1985.
The Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) admitted responsibility for his abduction and murder in December 1995.
Mr Ruddy’s remains were discovered in a forest area at Pont-de-l'Arche near the city of Rouen in northern France.
Family members today prayed for help to find other disappeared victims.
In his homily at St Catherine's Church in Newry, Bishop John McAreavey said: "Whatever about the circumstances of his death, one thing is certain: his death represented the snuffing-out of a life that had many wholesome qualities; it also cut off the promise of a new life in France.
"On Thursday Seamus’ family and friends welcomed him home to Newry. They were finally been able to do what they always wanted to do: to have a wake, to celebrate a funeral Mass for Seamus and to say a personal and dignified farewell to him through the funeral liturgy."
He added: "In the months and years ahead they will be able to visit the grave where Seamus lies."
