A few bright or short sunny spells today, but generally misty and mostly cloudy, with some hill and coastal fog locally also.
Most places dry at first, but rain and drizzle, over southern and western coastal counties, will become more widespread during the afternoon and evening, with some heavy bursts in places. Top temperatures 10 to 13 C., in freshening southeast to southerly breezes.
Misty and mostly cloudy tonight also, with fairly widespread rain and drizzle for a time, along with some patches of fog. But drier weather, with just scattered showers, will develop over Munster and Connacht later. Lowest temperatures 6 to 9 C.
