Today will remain cold and showery with sunny spells. Showers will be heavy with the risk of thundery downpours, especially in the west and north and some showers could turn wintry on higher ground.
Top temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees in blustery west to northwesterly winds.
Tonight heavy showers will continue, mainly affecting the west and north with some wintry falls likely. But showers will be more scattered in the southeast with good clear spells.
It will be cold with lowest temperatures falling to between -1 and +1 degrees with a widespread frost as moderate to fresh westerly winds which ease towards morning.
