Friday's weather: Cold and frosty with cloud increasing later; Highest temperatures 3C to 6C

Today

It will be cold and frosty this morning - and temperatures will only reach 3C to 6C degrees today.

There will be good sunshine in many places for the first half of the day but cloud will increase later as wintry showers in the west and north become more widespread.

North-westerly winds will freshen through the day also.

Tonight

Wintry showers will become confined to western and northern counties tonight with clear skies across the bulk of the country.

It will be cold and windy with widespread frost and lowest temperatures around freezing.
