Over 4,460 women and children lived in a refuge and received accommodation from domestic violence services in Ireland during 2013.
According to new statistics published this morning almost 11,500 women and children sought support services last year.
The report also shows that services across the country answered 46,137 help-line calls - that's 126 answered calls, each day.
SAFE Ireland is launching the 'MAN UP Campaign' this morning which is calling on men to stand against domestic violence.
