A flight has had to be diverted after a female passenger found out her husband was cheating on her.

The Hindustan Times says a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Bali had to land in India, after the woman started repeatedly hitting him.

Reports say she hacked into her husband's phone on Sunday morning and found the details.

The newspaper says the woman unlocked the phone using her husband's thumb impression as he slept.

The crew attempted to calm her afterwards.

However the plane was then diverted to Chennai in India, and the Iranian couple and their child were removed.

A security official said the flight then continued on its journey.

Qatar Airways has said it does not comment on individual cases in respect of passenger privacy.
