Five men are due in court today charged in connection with a number of car robberies in Limerick.
The suspects, who are aged between 17 and 27, were arrested earlier this week as part of an investigation into an organised crime gang.
In the first operation, on August 31st, a 27-year-old man was detained after being driving a 141-reg BMW that was stolen overnight in the Castletroy area of the city.
Another vehicle robbed from the same location, a 141-reg Volkswagen, was recovered in a follow-up search.
Gardaí also discovered two laptops and a 141-reg Nissan Quashqai, stolen in the southside of the city, as part of the investigation.
Four men were arrested the following morning and held, along with the other suspect, under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
All five are scheduled to appear before Limerick District Court at 10.30am this morning.
