Gardaí have discovered two firearms and ammunition in County Wicklow.

They were found during a search of wasteland in the Ballywaltrim area of Bray yesterday.

The firearms have been taken to the Forensic Science Laboratory for ballistic examination.

Gardaí say there have been no arrests at this stage but investigations are ongoing.

The search was carried out as part of Operation Thor, the Garda national anti-crime programme targetting organised crime gangs and repeat offenders
