A woman in her 30s has died after being struck by a lorry while cycling.

Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that occurred shortly before 2.30pm this afternoon at the junction of Templeville Road and Whitehall Road in Templeogue, Dublin 6W.

A female cyclist in her late 30s suffered serious injuries in the collision.

She was taken to Tallaght Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí said a post mortem is to be arranged.

Templeville Road was closed for a period of time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
