This will be the comedian's first stand-up special in 15 years. Deadline has speculated that the deal is in and around the $40 million range, which is in line with the money paid to Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld.

“It has been 15 years since I did a stand-up special. 15 years,” DeGeneres said in an official statement. “And I’m writing it now, I can’t wait. I’ll keep you posted when and where I’m gonna shoot my Netflix special. I’m excited to do it; I’m excited for you to see it.”

Her last special was entitled, Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now. It earned her multiple Emmy nominations. Since that time, DeGeneres has worked on her multi-award-winning daytime talk show. She has also appeared as the voice of Dory in both Finding Nemo and Finding Dory.
