An eight-year-old boy has died following a crash between a car and lorry which occurred in England yesterday afternoon.

The boy was a passenger in a car which was also carrying a woman in her 30's who was left in a critical condition. Another boy, aged nine, is being treated for serious injuries to his face.

There were two occupants in the lorry but police say that they were not injured as a result of the collision. 

The road was closed for seven hours and Police are currently trying to establish what happened.
