The Health and Safety Authority is investigating yesterday's fatal farm accident in Co Galway in which an eight-year-old boy died.

The child was rushed to University Hospital Galway following the incident on a farm in Kilcolgan on Saturday morning.

He passed away in hospital yesterday afternoon.

Fr David Cribbin, parish priest for the Ballinderreen and Kinvara parishes, says the accident has hit the community hard.
