2016 is proving to very much be Drake's year.
In the space of just a few weeks since the release of his latest album Views, he's managed to amass a number of new records.
Firstly, he's the first artist in 2016 to sell over a million copies of a new album, with Views selling 1.03 million in the first two weeks of it's release, managing to outsell even Beyonce's Lemonade album.
Secondly, he has been announced as Spotify's most streamed artist, bypassing the previous record holder Justin Bieber.
The numbers suggest that since Views arrived on the streaming service last week, it was streamed over 245 million times in the USA alone, and Drake now has a combined streaming total of over 3.2 billion worldwide, bypassing Bieber's 3.17 billion total.
Other members of the top ten most streamed artists are, in order of 3 to 10, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Calvin Harris, Sam Smith, Avicii, Rihanna and Ellie Goulding.
Drake also recently had his first ever No.1 single with "One Dance", which only this week was knocked from the top stop by Justin Timberlake's new effort "Can't Stop The Feeling!"
Like we said, 2016 is very much Drake's year!
