Peppa Pig and her brother George have always been the bad asses of the tot TV world, splashing in muddy puddles, thumbing their noses at fruit and veg and demanding chocolate cake with high pitched squeals copied by their pre-school audience. But a new lawsuit has revealed that the voice behind Dora the Explorer's educational sketch is truly hardcore.
Fatima Ptacek, the fifteen-year-old actress who voices Dora, was recently suspended from her private school- the magnificently monikered Manhattan's Avenues: The World School, for vaping in the jacks. No marijuana was found on the actress, who appears to prefer a caramel flavored water buzz to get her fix.
But a state Supreme Court civil case has heard that Ptacek allegedly peer-pressured a fellow student to inhale the sugary nectar, before they were both stung when a senior ratted on them.
Perhaps planning a run for office, Ptacek claims she didn't inhale in court papers reviewed by the New York Daily News.
"At first, we didn't know how to turn it on. But then we figured it out. We both sucked in from the vapouriser, but I was a little scared, so I didn't inhale into my lungs but kept it in my mouth.”
But while the Nickelodeon star was merely suspended, the daughter of Nadia Leonelli and Fredrik Sundwall was expelled, who stated in papers presented to the court that-
""The fact that F.P. is a known actress for being the voice of Dora Explorer may have played a role in why she was ultimately not expelled even after the school threatened as much, and M.S. was expelled instead as a scapegoat,".
They’re suing Avenues The World School, which opened four years ago in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood.
