Donald Trump's purchase of the Doonbeg golf resort in Co Clare has proved to be a savvy piece of business as the billionaire has valued it at up to $25m (€22.78m) - he paid €8.7m to receivers for the business 17 months ago in 2014.
The presidential hopeful was required to file a financial statement to the Federal Election Commission in the US - the 92 page document contained details of his Irish interest.
A jump in tourism has caused the value of the business to increase - he bought during an acceleration in the recovery of the Irish economy, and at a time when property prices were increasing.
He promised to invest up to €45m in the newly renamed 'Trump International Golf Links Resort at Doonbeg' and to create hundreds of jobs in county Clare.
In October of last year The Apprentice boss-man discussed his plans for the resort with Down to Business.
The federal filing shows that Mr Trump has assets worth at least $1.4bn, receives $250,000 per speech, and has an annual income of $380m - with some $200m income coming from golf courses and results.
