Dil is joined in studio by the co-ordinators and the participants of the DCU Access Programme. DCU operates the largest access programme of any university in Ireland with over 1,200 access students on campus in 2015/16. The programme has enjoyed huge success over the years with 93% of access students completing their third level education. Almost 10,000 primary and secondary DEIS school students participate in ‘Access DCU’ initiatives annually which promote positive attitudes to education.
We are also joined in studio by Dr Joseph Oye, the Sightsavers Country Director in Cameroon. There are 39 million blind people globally, 90% of whom live in developing countries, yet 80% of blindness is preventable or curable We cjhat to Joseph about what Ireland is doing to help the people of Cameroon.
Finally how a community is coming together to help a family in need. A host of ex-Celtic stars will play in a special charity match in Bray on the 29th of this month. It’s all in aid of Ger Doolan, who was left in a coma after an unprovoked attack last July.
All that and more from 7pm on Saturday, tune in or better still join in the conversation!
