Life in the wild is no joke for most in the animal kingdom – but it seems there are a few individuals out there who can see the lighter side of life.

The winners of the annual Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards were announced yesterday with some hilarious captures from around the world.

The awards aim to recognise images that are “light hearted, upbeat, possibly unpretentious and mainly about wildlife doing funny things.”

The organisers are also hopeful it can raise awareness about wildlife conservation and the “the dire need for us all to be conservationists in our own little way”

Fans of the images are urged to take the time to learn about ‘Born Free’ and its endeavours to promote animal welfare and compassionate conservation.
