Chelsea 6 - 0 Maribor

Chelsea took control of their Champions League group after a comfortable 6 - 0 thrashing of Maribor at Stamford Bridge.

Loic Remy had the Blues in front on 13 minutes with a low shot from 20 yards but injured himself in the process.

Didier Drogba came on to add a penalty 10 minutes later following a handball in the Slovenian side's box.

Captain John Terry added a third on the half hour mark converting a ball in from Cesc Fabregas.

A Mitja Viler own goal and two more efforts from Eden Hazard extended Chelsea's lead in the second half, while Maribor also missed a penalty when Agim Ibraimi hit the post.

The other group game saw Schalke beat Sporting Lisbon 4 - 3 thanks to a late Choupo-Moting penalty.

The pick of the other scorelines saw Bayern Munich thrash Roma 7 - 1, taking a 5 - 0 lead by half-time. The result leaves Man City just two points behind the Italian side.

Barcelona also picked up a 3 - 1 victory over Ajax, while PSG's 87th minute winner from Edinson Cavani helped the French champions edge APOEL Nicosia 1 - 0.
