Ciaran Maxwell is due to appear in court later
A serving member of the British armed forces has been charged with Northern Ireland-terrorism offences.
Ciaran Maxwell, who was arrested at his base in England last week, will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later.
He is to be charged with three offences, including obtaining items to be used in explosives.
The 30-year-old serviceman from Exminster, Devon, is also facing charges of possession of cannabis and possession of articles for use in connection with fraud.

Maxwell was detained by counter terrorism officers from Scotland Yard assisted by police from Avon and Somerset and Devon and Cornwall.
Searches in Antrim in Northern Ireland and a woodland in Devon, England are continuing.
