Police in Brazil say they want to speak to another member of the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI).

Officials say they want to interview Martin Burke - the OCI's sports director - as part of their inquiries into allegations of ticket touting at the Rio games.

At a press conference in Rio last night, police said new evidence has emerged in a trawl of computer files which have been uncovered as part of the investigation.

It is understood a file on an external hard drive seized in a search of the OCI offices was called 'THG Additional Tickets', which they believe the OCI's sports director Mr Burke was responsible for.

Police said it is now up to a public prosecutor to decide whether to press charges against him.

They also stated that they are looking speak to International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach - but that he would only be considered a witness.

Prosecutors said the IOC has not so far assisted them with the investigation, despite the IOC saying that it is cooperating.

It comes as a Judge in Brazil is set to decide whether or not to accept cases against Pat Hickey and Kevin Mallon.

Earlier, prosecutor Marcos Kac indicated that those accused of ticket touting could face sentences of eight to ten years if convicted.

Mr Hickey stepped aside from his role as president of the OCI following his arrest in during the games in Rio last month.
